Competitive compensation range for onsite WA applicants is $145,000 to $165,000. All applicants are welcome to apply.

What can I expect in this role?
The Controller manages activities and a team within the accounting department, and is responsible for ensuring entries are timely, accurate, and comply with all accounting practices, standards, and regulations. This is a key position that works collaboratively and cross-functionally.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, review, and monitor the financial and cost analysis processes in support of the CEO, CFO, functional business leaders, and Board of Directors.
- Ensure all accounting and finance responsibilities are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with practices and procedures. Provide financial information to auditors and ensure all legal/regulatory requirements are met.
- Ensure efficient use of the ERP system, while maintaining the highest integrity in all cost tracking and financial reporting. Establish and enforce policies and procedures for financial and accounting practices.
- Coordinate and prepare financial forecasts and ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
- Develop and document business and accounting policies and procedures that maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage all financial systems, to include: billing, A/R, A/P, month-end and year-end close, local, state, federal government reporting, tax filings, and GL. Perform data mining and extraction from primary and secondary data sources and create reports using Excel and other database tools.
- Integrate business forecasts with relevant historical financial data to anticipate future financial outcomes, facilitating strategic business planning, and guiding process and policy enhancements.
- Assess financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results against projections and plans.
- Support the improvement of AST’s financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; and recommending actions to leadership team and Board.
- Work closely with outside accounting firms to ensure AST stays compliant and in support of their efforts.
- Effectively partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, drive process improvements, and implement best practices.
- Enhance existing processes for consistency, standardization, and to increase efficiency and implement new financial processes and procedures, as needed.
- Build, maintain, and drive robust financial analysis and reporting to help guide and influence business decisions.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
- Assist the CFO in insurance procurement and renewal of all business insurance needs.
- Ensure compliance on all audits conducted by government regulating agencies and insurance companies.
- Evaluate, assess, develop, and empower members of the accounting team
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible Accounting and Finance experience, in manufacturing or related industry, including experience with job costing and percent-of-completion accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline. CPA is preferred.
- Experienced and highly proficient with ERP systems. Knowledge of Epicor Kinetic, SQL, and PowerBI, is a plus.
- Proven advanced Excel skills.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing to take and successfully pass a drug test.
